From print room to production code

Print taught us habits that software firms often never learn. A press run has no undo: you proof properly, you check registration, you sign it off, and then you commit. Ship a misprint and you pay for the paper twice.

That's exactly how we build software. Proof first — a working slice you can see and click, not a 40-page specification. Check registration — does it line up with how your team actually works? Sign-off — you approve the proof before we press on. Then we commit, and it runs.

The other thing print taught us is service. When a machine goes down at 8am, someone answers the phone and someone turns up. We carry that into software: everything we ship is monitored, maintained and backed by people you can actually ring. Same number we've had for decades.

Software firms talk about 'craft' a lot. We spent 37 years in a trade where craft was measurable in microns of registration drift. We just brought the same standards to a new press.
